Play Solar Smash online in the browser player above. Solar-Smash.io is an independent game directory: we provide this page, the player frame and practical guidance for visitors. We do not publish, operate or represent the original Solar Smash game. The embedded experience is supplied by a third-party provider, so its availability and features can change.
Play Solar Smash Online in Your Browser
Use the player at the top of this page to start. There is no software to install from Solar-Smash.io and no account is required by this website. If the player offers a full-screen control, you can use it for a larger view; press Esc to leave full screen on a desktop device.
This page is designed for people looking for a quick way to try a planet-destruction sandbox in a browser. A sandbox game is less about completing one fixed path and more about experimenting, observing results and deciding what to try next. The exact tools, scenes and controls available in the embedded game are determined by its provider and may differ between devices.
How to Start a Session
- Wait for the player above to finish loading before clicking inside it.
- Use the game’s own on-screen menu to choose an option and learn its controls.
- For a larger view, use the full-screen button in the page’s game controls when it is available.
- If you are on a phone or tablet, rotate the device only if the player asks you to; touch controls are defined by the embedded game.
When the Browser Game Does Not Load
A game frame can fail to load because of a temporary provider issue, a strict network, an extension that blocks embedded content, or an outdated browser. First refresh this page once. Then check your connection and try a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. If a browser extension blocks the player, allow this site only if you trust it. Availability is controlled by the third-party provider, so we cannot guarantee that the same build will always be available.
What This Site Adds
We keep the playable page separate from the catalogue so visitors can move from a specific game to related browser games without searching from scratch. If you want another sandbox-style option after playing, see Universe Sandbox or Melon Sandbox. You can also browse the wider All Games catalogue.
Those links are editorial recommendations inside this directory. Each game has its own page and may have a different provider, age guidance, controls and availability. Open a game page before playing to check the information shown there.

The weapons, in one place
The mobile version of Solar Smash gives each attack a different job, so choosing a weapon is less about finding one universal answer and more about matching the tool to the situation. The current weapon menu contains 34 weapons, including three defensive options, alongside the tools used in Galaxy Smash. Nine weapons expose a settings panel, where strength, size, amount, colour or a variant can change how an attack behaves. The detailed list on our weapons guide keeps the names and menu groups together so that a returning player can find a familiar icon without guessing.
The Spacial group is the starting point for direct planet damage. Asteroids, meteor showers and the Moon make visible craters, while Black Holes remove material around their growing radius. Energy weapons cover explosive and sustained effects: Nuclear Missiles can be used as a single precise strike or scattered in a much larger salvo, while a Fusion Core waits for a second hit before detonating. Laser-based tools change the rhythm again. Kinetic Artillery is useful when the goal is to fire many shots, Plasma produces a heavy impact, and the Energy Beam keeps cutting for as long as it is held. The Gauss Cannon is the more deliberate choice when a clean line through a world matters.
Alien technology adds moving and orbital threats rather than only impact points. A UFO can attack a selected area, the Orbital Cannon circles the planet, and larger ships combine several attacks with their own point-defence lasers. The Monsters group behaves differently: Swarms scorch a broad surface, Leviathan burrows from the tapped location, Monarch can be steered, and the Abyssal Devourer pulls a section of a planet away. These tools are useful when you want to observe a changing scene instead of completing the destruction with one button.
Defence is not just a target to ignore. The Shield Ship creates a regenerating hexagonal barrier, Defensive Satellites intercept incoming weapons, and Mines react to nearby ships. The seasonal Christmas set remains available, with Random Gift, Xmas Tree and Snowball variants. Galaxy Smash has its own Galactic Laser plus attracting and repelling Magnets for stars. The Grid tool also matters because it is the practical route to several shape achievements: it clips the planet along three axes instead of relying on random damage.
Settings can change the result more than a new icon does. Most adjustable values run from strength 0.5 to 5, and missile amount can reach 100; colour is normally cosmetic. Nuclear Missiles set to amount 66 are tied to Order 66, while Plasma at strength 5 creates one of the strongest single impacts. For speed, Planet Killer works best before a world is badly cracked. Anti-Matter Missile and a high Nuclear Missile count suit population challenges; stacked Black Holes or Mining Drill are practical against shields; a single Nuclear Missile or Gauss Cannon gives more control. Kinetic Artillery and a mix of four different weapons are useful for progression bonuses. The best weapon therefore depends on whether the immediate aim is speed, precision, population, a shield or XP. See the full Solar Smash weapons guide for the complete list, variants and settings.
Every planet and system
Planet Smash is built around destructible voxel worlds, but the roster is not a list of identical spheres. The Sol system includes the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, the Moon, Mars and Pluto. The Sun is a destructible star rather than a planet, and its supernova can affect every planet on the same screen. Mercury has a thin crust, no population and a short destruction cycle. Earth is the reference world, with the largest population and many of the game’s location-based challenges. Venus has a thicker crust and its own Cloudless Venus achievement, while the Moon also appears as a weapon.
Alpha Centauri adds Adranos, Persephone, Machine World, Ringworld, Perchta and Starworld. Machine World is defined by its regenerating hexagonal shield and central core; Ringworld changes the geometry of impacts because it is a populated ring rather than a sphere. The Tau system includes Hades, Tatenen, Avalon, Aphrodite, Boreas and Living Planet. Boreas is the frozen setting used for the Defrosted Boreas challenge, while Avalon can receive an Orbital Ring variant at a later level. TRAPPIST-1 represents seven real exoplanets. The game gives TRAPPIST-1d and 1f populations, and the group is opened in stages rather than all at once.
Secret planets sit in a separate, unnamed system and are earned through achievements. Snow Globe, Waterworld, Block World, Ghost World, Pumpkin, Snowman and Gingerbread Man each require a particular sequence, often involving a reset at the right visual moment. Custom Planet is different again: it lets the player paint a world, set its population and save it. Custom Image wraps a picture from the device around a sphere, turning a portrait or logo into a breakable planet. Solar Smash 2D has its own roster and should not be confused with the 3D game’s unlocks.
For XP, the useful choice depends on the bonus being targeted. Mercury is efficient for speed because it is small and unpopulated. Earth is better for population-based bonuses, and an undiscovered planet can provide a first-time bonus. Rotating through the Sol system is more productive than destroying Earth repeatedly. Level requirements and achievement conditions are cumulative, so a planet that appears unavailable may simply need a higher level or a reset step. Our Solar Smash planets guide lists the systems, secret planets, custom options and XP notes.
Achievements and progression
Achievements are the game’s second progression layer. Some arrive naturally through destruction, while others ask for a setting, a location, a weapon or a precise reset. Progress achievements count destroyed planets and fired weapons; Kinetic Artillery and a held Meteor Shower are useful when the goal is to raise a shot counter. The Artist is a simple settings task, whereas the Weapons Master levels require increasingly large totals.
The Grid tool powers the shape group. Its X, Y and Z sliders remove everything outside a box, making Cube Earth, Cube Mars, Flat Earth and Flat Mars repeatable rather than accidental. Donut and Ghost Donut add a hole to the shape, and Block World combines the cube setup with a Healing Missile. Population achievements use Custom Planet values: Number of the Beast, Member of the Elite and Overpopulation check different entries before the planet is saved or reset. Machine World has its own group for dropping the shield, reaching the exposed core, using Snowballs and timing a Leviathan while the shield regenerates.
Other families cover the Sun and system modes, weapon-specific actions, defence placement, UFO landings and text or menu secrets. Examples include making the Sun go supernova, dragging a planet into it, completing Order 66 with 66 Nuclear Missiles, surrounding Earth with Defensive Satellites, landing UFO attacks near Washington or Moscow, and renaming a planet for the Jeff or Zero Wing secrets. Several achievements unlock variants, skins, planets or Galaxy Smash, while level XP independently opens other content.
The fastest general XP routine uses a small unpopulated planet such as Mercury, three or four different weapons, and a Planet Killer finish before resetting. That combines speed and variety instead of repeatedly farming one large populated world. The important distinction is that the browser player on this site is a web port and does not track the mobile achievement list. For the complete conditions, reset timing and level unlocks, read the Solar Smash achievements guide.
How it compares to Universe Sandbox
Solar Smash and Universe Sandbox share a space-simulation theme, but they are not the same type of game. Universe Sandbox is a paid desktop physics simulator from Giant Army, sold for 29.99 USD on Steam; it models gravity, collisions, climate and stellar evolution rather than focusing on weapon-based planet destruction. The free browser frame offered on the related page is a third-party HTML5 space sandbox, not Universe Sandbox itself. That distinction matters when choosing what to play: use Solar Smash for quick planet-destruction sessions, and consider the separate Universe Sandbox comparison page when you want the differences in physics, platform and price explained clearly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play Solar Smash without downloading anything?
The player on this page is embedded in the browser, so Solar-Smash.io does not require a separate download. The provider may change its requirements or availability at any time.
Is Solar-Smash.io the official Solar Smash website?
No. This is an independent directory that provides browser access and editorial information. It does not represent the game’s developer or publisher.
Why might the player look different on another device?
The embedded game is supplied externally. Its interface, touch support and performance can depend on the device, browser, connection and provider version.
Where can I find another browser game?
Start with the All Games page, then use each game page to decide what to play next.
Who made Solar Smash?
Solar Smash is developed by Paradyme Games, an independent studio, and was first released for Android and iOS in 2020. The browser player on this page is a web port; the official apps are on Google Play and the App Store.
Is Solar Smash free?
Yes. The mobile app is free with ads (with a one-time purchase to remove them) and the browser version here is free. There are no accounts or purchases on this site.
Does Solar Smash need internet?
The mobile app works offline once installed. The browser version needs a connection to load the game (about 35 MB the first time), then runs in the tab.
Is Solar Smash safe for kids?
There are no characters, blood or story; the destruction is abstract voxels and particle effects, and store ratings place it around 10 and up. Our information for parents page explains what the mobile version shows and what this site does not collect.
What are good games like Solar Smash?
On this site: Universe Sandbox for a realistic physics take, Melon Sandbox for ragdoll physics, and the simulation games category for planet builders and space sandboxes. Our sandbox destruction games comparison goes through the differences.
Is there a Solar Smash 2?
The sequel is called Solar Smash: Annihilation, coming to PC (Steam) first and consoles later, with no release date yet. See everything confirmed about Solar Smash: Annihilation.

About Solar-Smash.io
Solar-Smash.io is an independent browser-game site built around one idea: you should be able to open a game and play it within seconds, without installing anything, creating an account or wading through pop-ups. The site started as a single page for playing Solar Smash in a browser and has grown into a small, curated portal of just over a hundred free games, organised into simulation, action, puzzle, multiplayer, featured, hot and new categories. Every game runs directly in the browser on desktop, tablet and phone.
What makes the site different from the large aggregators is the writing. Each game page carries an original guide written for that game: the controls on desktop and mobile, what to do in the first minute, the mistakes that end most attempts early, and a short FAQ. The Solar Smash guides go further, covering every weapon, every planet and secret planet, the full achievements list and where the game can be played officially. Nothing is copied from store listings, and we say plainly when a game on the site is an alternative to, rather than the official version of, a well-known title.
Games are supplied by licensed HTML5 distributors and by developers who publish web builds; we do not host modified or cracked versions, and we do not link to downloads. The library is refreshed regularly, with new titles published on a schedule and older ones removed when a provider stops serving them. Popular and trending sections are based on real plays on this site.
We aim to keep the environment safe and readable for players of different ages: no accounts are required, comments are moderated, and a dedicated information for parents page explains what the site does and does not collect. Feedback and game requests are welcome through the contact page; several of the guides on the site exist because a reader asked for them.
