Can You Play Solar Smash on PC, Xbox, PS5, Switch or Mac? Every Platform Explained

Solar Smash started as a phone game and most of the “can you play Solar Smash on…” questions come from people who want it on a bigger screen. This is the platform-by-platform answer as of September 2026, including the ways that work today and the ones that do not exist yet. No downloads are recommended from third-party sites; the official routes are listed and they cover every real case.

Android

The original platform. Solar Smash by Paradyme Games is free on Google Play with ads and an optional ad-removal purchase. This is the version with the full achievement list, all planets and the latest updates.

iPhone and iPad

Available on the App Store, same content as Android. An iPad is the best way to play the mobile version: the extra screen space makes the grid tool and aimed weapons much easier.

PC and laptop (Windows)

Two official options. First, Google Play Games on PC runs the Android version natively on Windows, with keyboard and mouse; Solar Smash is in its catalogue. Second, the browser version on this site runs in Chrome, Edge or Firefox with nothing to install: play Solar Smash online. The browser build is a port and does not sync with your mobile profile, so achievements and level unlocks stay on the phone. A third route, an Android emulator, also works but is slower and not needed.

There is no standalone Solar Smash on Steam. The Steam game is the sequel, Solar Smash: Annihilation, which is not released yet.

Mac

Google Play Games on PC is Windows-only. On a Mac, the browser version is the practical option, and it runs well in Safari or Chrome on any recent MacBook or iMac. An iPad with the App Store version is the other choice.

Xbox

Not available. Solar Smash has never been released on Xbox One or Series X/S. The sequel is planned for consoles after its PC launch, but no console has been named and there is no date. Anything labelled “Solar Smash Xbox” today is not the game.

PlayStation 5 and PS4

Not available, same situation as Xbox. Console plans exist only for Annihilation and only in general terms.

Nintendo Switch

Not available, and unlike Xbox and PlayStation, Nintendo has not been mentioned at all in the sequel’s console plans.

Chromebook

Works two ways: install the Android app from Google Play if your Chromebook supports Android apps, or use the browser version. Both run fine on school-managed devices where installs are blocked, which is why “solar smash unblocked” is such a common search; the browser version needs no installation and no account.

Kindle Fire

Solar Smash is not in the Amazon Appstore. Fire tablets that have Google Play installed can use the Android version; otherwise the browser build in Silk works.

YouTube Playables

Solar Smash is one of the games in YouTube Playables, the mini-game section inside the YouTube app and site. It is a cut-down version that runs without installing anything, which explains the “solar smash youtube playable” searches. Progress there does not carry over to the app.

Other browser portals

Solar Smash also appears on some game portals. Versions differ: some are the same web build as here, some are older. The one on this page is kept current and loads only when you press Play, so the page itself stays light.

Does Solar Smash need internet?

It has no blood, no characters and no story; the destruction is abstract, voxels and particle effects. Store ratings place it in the everyone-10-and-up range because of the theme. Through Google Play Games on PC, yes. There is no separate PC installer from the developer, and “.exe” downloads from other sites should be avoided.

When is Solar Smash coming to Xbox?

The original is not. The sequel will reach consoles after PC, with no date yet.
