Merge Mine – Idle Clicker is an incremental game about digging: you tap a diamond vein, earn currency, buy tools, and merge duplicate tools into stronger ones until the operation runs itself. How to play Merge Mine
Tap or click the vein to mine manually. Currency accumulates from every strike and, once you have automated tools, from time passing as well. Spend currency on new tools, then drag one tool onto an identical tool to merge them into the next tier. The merged tool mines faster or is worth more per strike than the two that made it.
Manual clicking matters most at the very start and becomes almost irrelevant later, which is normal for the genre and not a sign you are doing something wrong.
Merging beats buying
The common beginner mistake is spending every coin on new low-tier tools because they are cheap. Two low-tier tools merged are worth more than three sitting separately, so buy in pairs with merging in mind. Keep at least one free slot at all times: a full board with no matching pair is the one position in this game that genuinely stalls progress.
When you can afford either a new tool or an upgrade to an existing one, the upgrade is usually better once your board is more than half full, and the new tool is better while you still have space.
Making the idle part work for you
Idle games are designed around returning. Before you close the tab, spend your currency rather than banking it, because tools generate while you are away and unspent coins do not. Set the board up so that the highest-tier tools are the ones running when you leave.
Progress is exponential rather than linear. The first ten minutes feel slow and the game opens up sharply once two or three merges have compounded, which is the point at which most players decide whether they like the genre.
